A Tag Is The Best Defense Thursday, 23 July, 2009

Let me confess at the outset I am very bad in blog-socializing (or Socio-blogalizing or whatever you may call it).

I am pathetic in reciprocating to people who are kind to me. I do realize, when a fellow blogger marked me on a tag or mentions my blog in their posts, they actually have passed a big compliment. Few others have silently added me on their blogroll. Some people comes to my blog to comment. Most of them do that because either they like my blog or think I would come up with interesting stuff. But most important gesture is they think of me and believe I deserve to be tagged.

But I am miserable when it comes to reciprocation. I don’t  do the tag, I don’t recognize or circulate the award, I don’t list those things about me and don’t counter-tag other’s to keep the tag chain moving.

In short I am a Blog Black Hole (let’s call it Blogk Hole, sounds more technical). All chains abruptly end at my blog. My inaction also makes me seem like an arrogant egotist, un-social ungrateful hermit sitting inside my shell getting HOW (see right pane for definition of HOW).

All, because of my sheer unpardonable laziness which engulfs the mind and overshadows my social etiquettes, leaving me as an inert amoeboid.

I want to improve  my image. This is my first step.

So here I go, following the old saying A Tag is the Best Defense…..

Now moving to the next tag.

My very first Blog Award was presented by Wits ‘n’ Nuts in this post . I have proudly displayed the award on my widget pane now.

All awards invariablycome with rules. Here the rules are that, I should list 7 of my loves ( I interpret it as 7 of my favourite things and not the pictures from January to July in Kingfisher Calendar 2009 ) and pass it on to 7 favorite bloggers .

So here goes list of my Seven favourite things*-

Photography- Undoubtedly, this is my first love. I do not have any professional training , but have an indomitable urge to capture those special moments of life, immortal, in a frame. I am very possessive about my photographs and I have meticulously organized and preserved all my negatives, CDs and albums, which I keep browsing frequently. I don’t allow anyone to touch them as well.

Movies- Are beyond mere entertainment to me and I am passionate about the Art. I collect movies which I feel precious and I own more than 1000 titles including World, Hollywood, Bollywood and Bengali films. I have the entire set of Satyajit Ray and some rare old movies.

Driving- I have to drive 4 hours everyday, in thick city traffic. I have tried keeping drivers, but discovered that I am happier behind the wheel. I do crave for those long drives on open roads, which comes as a rarity in my life. But given a scope I believe I can tour the entire world on road.

Traveling- I guess most of us who loves photography loves traveling, for obvious reasons. My dream is to travel the world which would also satisfy my first and third love! I wish I could write better travelogues.

Music- Driving and music goes together. Without music life is incomplete.

Graphics- I wish graphics was my profession. I love that sharp, smart work of arts- from a simple logo to a poster, capturing that brilliant flash of creativity. I also love comics and graphic novels.

Food- I love ordering new dishes at new places with a new cocktail to go with, though after eating, am better at burping than writing about them. I can also cook stuff which can be eaten by others.

Gizmos/ gadgets- I am a sucker of radical product designs and new gizmos/ gadgets which offers  innovative shortcuts to an otherwise boring tiresome job.  I also come out with radical ideas ( e.g- I believe if something that today’s mobile phone lack, is a lighter) which I believe is damn practical .

Now the toughest part, to award my favourite bloggers. It is difficult for me to choose favorites from the blogs I read. For the same reason I do not display a blogroll too. As circular referencing is not allowed so no award for WitsnNuts.

However given a choice I have to include-

ROFL Indian- For outstanding humour, impeccable language and wide range of topics.

Whatsinaname- For writing on simple down to earth slice if life to make me nostalgic. She is hibernating presently.

Magicalsummer- For succulent accounts of au courant lifestyle, sensibilities in an enviable style of writing.

Lynn- Foir a very inspirational and poignant blog under the apparent colourful and informative posts.

Axw11- For a very detectable graphic art. his posts are few but style is distinguishable. He also  share similar passion for movies.

Brainstuck- My favourite place for dark humour cartoons.

NurseMyra- For unique research based adult humour, never fails to surprise/ shock me (warning- highly graphic adult content, unsafe for work)

I am yet to complete two more tags. Hope to do that soon, hang around.
